Fire and Life Safety Inspections
To protect the community, the Burbank Fire Department conducts fire and life safety inspections of commercial properties and multi-family dwellings. Every city or county fire department or district providing fire protection services are mandated to inspect all structures within its jurisdiction, except single family dwellings, for compliance with building standards and other regulations of the State Fire Marshal, in accordance with the California Health and Safety Code Section 13146.2(a).
The inspection fee is $109.00 per hour (minimum ½ hour). After an inspection has been performed, an invoice is issued typically within two weeks. Payment is required within 20 days of the invoice date. Each invoice will specify the date of service (which is the inspection date) and the inspection location.
The Burbank Fire Department utilizes Wittman Enterprises, a private billing company, to issue these inspection invoices and collect payments. If you have any questions about your invoice and payment, please contact Wittman Enterprises at 1 (800) 906-6552 between 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
