Car Seat Safety

Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death for children in the United States. Car seats can make all the difference. Here are four steps to keep your child safe:

  1. Find the right car seat. Make sure you’re using the right car seat for your child’s age, weight and height.
  2. Install your car seat correctly.
  3. Register your car seat right away to receive safety recall notices from the manufacturer.
  4. Sign up to receive e-mail alerts about car seat and booster seat recalls from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Burbank Fire Department does not inspect or install car seats. Please contact your local California Highway Patrol Office.
