On June 28, 2017 at 1509 hours, a full brush response was dispatched to Hamline Place. Upon arrival, crews reported a one to two acre brush fire moving uphill at a rapid rate of spread, threatening homes on Viewcrest Drive. Through an aggressive air and ground attack, crews were able to keep the fire contained to approximately 23.5 acres with no damage to structures. A total of 35 Engines, 10 Battalion Chiefs, 6 Hand Crews, 5 water dropping helicopters, 3 Rescue Ambulances and 3 Water Tenders helped mitigate the incident. Resources from Area C, Los Angeles County Fire, Los Angeles City Fire and the US Forest Service assisted with the response. The Burbank Police Department provided traffic control and helped coordinate evacuations on Viewcrest Drive, Howard Court, Mystic View Place and Olney Place. Crews stayed on scene throughout the night and expect to complete mop-up by the end of June 29. There were no injuries to civilians.
