National EMS Week

National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week is May 21 – 27. This year’s theme is “EMS STRONG: Always in Service.”

The Burbank Fire Department (BFD) is a proud and dedicated EMS provider for over 40 years. Over 80% of BFD's incidents are medical in nature. With the introduction of paramedic services in the mid-1970’s, the BFD has continued to provide state of the art care to the citizens of Burbank.

There are three rescue ambulances assigned to Stations 11, 13 and 15 effectively dividing the city into thirds to provide quick response times to emergencies. Also, all BFD engine and truck companies are Advanced Life Support capable.

BFD employs a Medical Director and EMS Nurse Specialist to facilitate system quality improvement and continuing education for Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians. Please join us in recognizing EMS personnel for providing lifesaving services to the community!
